Before deciding on your hairstyle and jewellery, consider the style and neckline of your wedding dress. Different necklines complement specific types of earrings, and this can influence your overall look. When embracing a half-up, half-down hairstyle, characterized by its bohemian charm, we suggest opting for earrings with some length. An ideal choice is a design with an ethereal touch. Styles that beautifully enhance this look include the Alora, Lea, and Juliette earrings.
When opting for updo hairstyles, where your neck and ears are prominently featured, adorning them with a statement design consistently enhances the overall aesthetic. Within our collection, standout options such as the Evelyn, Emily, or Trista earrings perfectly complement this style. You could even pair a beautiful necklace to go with this look and we highly recommend the Clara or Poppy necklace to accompany these earrings.
If you decide on a down hairstyle and would like to show of your earrings, we do suggest tucking your hair behind your ears. For the ceremony you could decide to where your hair like this and then for reception change it up. Our most popular styles for this look have been designs that are modern yet chic. Our favourite styles for this look are the Ayla, Celine and Oceane earrings.
When selecting your jewellery, we consistently advise taking into account the plating option that aligns with your preferences. Examine the beadwork on your dress and opt for a plating that complements your complexion and hair colour. If you're accustomed to wearing silver or gold regularly, adhere to the plating option that instils the most confidence in you.
In the end, select jewellery that mirrors your unique personal style. If you lean towards minimalism, embrace simple and elegant pieces. For those who adore making bold statements, gravitate towards larger, eye-catching jewellery.
Keep in mind that these are guidelines, and the main consideration is that you feel both comfortable and beautiful in your chosen ensemble.

We love to know the back-story, how did you first meet? And how did he propose?
We had actually been running in the same circle of friends for a while but it took a couple of years for us to actually be in the same room. In 2013 a mutual friend of ours was having a small party and that’s when we were finally in the same room. However, Sean was actually too nervous to approach me so instead added me on Facebook the next day and that’s how we began talking. We finally met up for a quick sushi date and the rest is history.
The night he proposed he took me for a nice long drive in his new Commodore. We got dinner, and he told me to get anything I wanted. We shared some oysters, some steaks and a bottle of wine and more cocktails. We came home and I was sitting on the couch with our two dogs and he asked me to be his wife.
Planning a wedding during Covid can be hard to navigate through, was there any hurdles you had to overcome?
We got engaged in February 2020, so we weren’t able to have an engagement party with our friends and family. So we planned for the wedding to be at the end of 2021 thinking that Covid wouldn’t even be a topic of conversation by then (very naïve).
The only hiccups we had was that our photographer who lived in NSW couldn’t shoot the wedding due to boarder restrictions and hesitancy that they would get locked out of their state. Luckily we were able to get Nathan who was incredible! Also family member’s interstate didn’t travel due to the same concerns. However, as our wedding was one of the major events that people could attend after the Victorian lockdown ended, there was not only a massive celebration of Sean and I getting married but also an insane buzz of everyone being able to see and catch up with each other once again.
Tell us about the styling/theme for your wedding? What was the atmosphere like on the day?
I knew that I wanted to have an “old world meets modern romantic” theme for the wedding. I have always been drawn to all things vintage but adding a modern flare to it. Our wedding venue was the perfect setting for this. The old home of Dame Nellie Melba in the background of our ceremony, bridal party shots of the oldest inbuilt swimming pool in Victoria but the modern restaurant for the reception. We had the modern colour palette with the florals and our photographer shot exclusively on film. I felt I created a vibe that was totally “us”.
The atmosphere was just electric! After spending so much time apart people were just over the moon to be together again.
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
First was our surprise vows to each other. Sean is a man of few words so to hear him pour his heart out was incredibly special, there was not a dry eye in the house after he said his piece.
Secondly, we also went against tradition and spent the night before our wedding together with our bridal party and we all got ready together. We were able to spend so much more time together celebrating the day.
Tell us about your wedding dress & how you came to choose the perfect one:
I knew I wanted something simple and elegant but having details where it mattered so the dress wouldn’t be boring. The dress I ultimately went with was actually the first dress I chose to try on. Every other dress I tried on afterwards my bridesmaids and I were comparing to the first one.

Is there anything you wish you had done differently?
Not a single thing! We had incredible people to celebrate with. Our vendors were so attentive that we didn’t have anything to worry about. Once all the decisions were made we were able to fully relax and enjoy the day together.
What advice would you give to future brides?
Meet your team! Just because someone is right for someone else doesn’t mean they will be right for you. Talk about your vision and how you want the day to look and feel so you can see if you are a right fit. I clicked immediately with all my vendors, it felt as if we were all a big family coming together by the end of it.
Go unapologetically towards your vision. It’s your day, you can celebrate it however you like. We went against tradition with a couple of things but that’s what we wanted to do.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t become so engrossed in all the tiny insignificant details, people generally don’t notice or remember them anyway. You and your family and friends will only remember the vibes and atmosphere. So come into the day with just excitement and remembering how much you love each other.

]]>Tell us about the styling/theme for your wedding? What was the atmosphere like on the day?
I juggled through many colour palettes and concepts before landing on our final choice. I knew I wanted modern, and decided on bright, Mediterranean-inspired florals and decorations for the day, as I felt colour best expressed the celebration of love. We encouraged our guests to wear colours and prints, too.
We incorporated aspects of ourselves into the decor. For example, we included kumquats in the floral arrangements as a nod to the kumquat tree my grandparents had when I was a child. The atmosphere on the day felt relaxed, intimate and elegant.
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
A few moments stick out for me. Getting to dance with my Grandpa was wonderful. My grandparents were able to make it over from Perth in the window where the Covid cases were low. This was a very special moment, it felt very full-circle and his face lit up as we danced.
We had the mums do the speeches instead of dads, to change it up, and our mums are both extremely prominent figures in our lives. Morgan also used his late Grandad’s wedding band as his own.

Lockdown made this a little tricky, but I got there in the end! Originally, I visited Grace Loves Lace, and had a few other in-person bridal appointments lined up, but the hard lockdowns & restrictions hit around this time so it fell through. It all came together when I found an online designer who made dresses to order. I found a beautiful slip-style, form-fitted dress. I knew I wanted something minimalistic, so this worked perfectly.
Wedding dress brand: Angellure Bridal

Is there anything you wish you had done differently?
I would have been more present! I was quite concerned, especially during the reception, about everyone else’s enjoyment that I forgot to really take in some moments for myself. It is hard when you spend a year planning for one day and night, and I’m no professional event planner, so it’s overwhelming when the day itself comes around to take it all in. I am glad that Morgan reminded me throughout that everyone was having a wonderful time.
What advice would you give to future brides?
That there will be lots of opinions! It is great to ask advice from those around you, however I say to always go with your heart when making decisions. Even if your concept/idea is the least popular vote, go for it, because it's you and your partner's day, not theirs! Prioritise what feels true to you, it will all come together on the day and will feel personal and represent who you and your partner are as people. This makes it all the more special.
Also, really relish in the day for yourself and your partner! It is your day, after all. Let it fall into place around you, and just enjoy.

Name: Tarah & Steven Dunn
Wedding Date: September 5th, 2021
Wedding Location: Whidbey Island, Washington
Number of guests: 70
We love to know the back-story, how did you first meet? And how did he propose?
After meeting on a dating app back in October of 2018, our first date was an impromptu get-together at a local coffee shop. We were immediately drawn to each other, and talked well past midnight. Fast forward 2 years to this past February, where Steven and I were on a road trip to join my sister and her husband in the desert for a little weekend getaway. Unbeknownst to me, the whole trip was a set-up. As we were on our way to the AirBnb, Steven pulled off on a dirt road and suggested we take some photos on his film camera — a very normal thing for us to do. He led me to a cathedral-like rock formation— which he scouted a few days prior— where a path of white rose petals led to a blanket and champagne picnic setup. After seeing this, I realized what was happening, and I pretty much entered into a heart-pounding tunnel vision, where, all of a sudden, the man of my dreams was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. It was the most thoughtful proposal I could have asked for. As if the proposal wasn’t enough of a surprise — a group of my dearest friends and family were waiting for us at the AirBnb, where we spent the remainder of the weekend drinking margaritas and basking in the desert sun.
Tell us about the styling/theme for your wedding? What was the atmosphere like on the day?
We wanted the style of the wedding to draw from the natural surroundings of the venue, which was an orchard on Whidbey Island. We didn't want to take away from the natural beauty of the property, so we opted for a simple and organic, yet elegant feel. It was important to me that all the florals were native to the island, and that none of it felt manufactured or over-produced. To me, my favorite feature of the venue was the long family-style dinner table, which was surrounded with vintage mismatched chairs and a eucalyptus runner with local apples picked that morning. We wanted it to feel like a late-summer dinner party, with all of our closest friends and family, and that’s exactly how it felt.
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
I think the setting we were in made the whole trip memorable, since it was a destination wedding, after all. Getting married on an island, which required all of our guests to travel to some capacity, was unique and made the whole weekend feel like one big vacation with all of our closest friends. Also, something that was brought up by nearly all of our guests after the wedding was how delicious the food was.
Tell us about your wedding dress & how you came to choose the perfect one:
One of the easiest decisions I made in regards to the wedding was choosing my wedding dress. I had an idea of what I wanted before I started looking, but when I saw this dress from a previous collection, I fell in love. After lots of searching online and with no luck finding retailers that held the dress in stock near me, let alone in this country, I moved on. Serendipitously, I found the dress listed on a resale site by a sweet woman based in London, England. She bought the dress in Paris at a sample sale, and ended up finding a dress she loved more, and decided to sell the very dress I was looking for. Long story short, she packaged it in multiple weather-proof bags to protect it from the rainy UK weather and it arrived here a week later in all its silky, georgette-layered glory. After many try-ons and intricate tailoring work, this was the final product. I couldn’t be happier with it, and it was just one of the many things that made me feel beautiful, and myself, that day.

We love to know the back-story, how did you first meet? And how did he propose?
We met at a party nearly 10 years ago through his twin brother, who was a friend of mine. We then went on to discover that we had a lot of mutual friends, so it was very easy!! He proposed whilst we were on a holiday in the Northern Territory, after a helicopter ride to a mountain-top picnic in the West Macdonnel ranges.
Tell us about the styling/theme for your wedding? What was the atmosphere like on the day?
Very casual and focused on enjoying the time with family and friends. We kept things relatively minimal, and found that it all just fell in to place very easily!!
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
We were the last wedding to be held at Newstead House before they closed for renovation, after being built in 1846!!

Tell us about the styling/theme for your wedding? What was the atmosphere like on the day?
I wanted everything to be timeless so I don’t look back in years to come and regret anything! I had a cold leading up to the wedding and was sick the morning of. We had a 6am start but the atmosphere just got better and better as the day went on and I started to feel better too, which I am so thankful for (nothing champagne can’t fix) Plus the weather was perfect!!
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
I loved that we had such a big bridal party (20 including Will and I) we weren’t originally going to have any but so happy we changed our minds as they made the lead up and the day so memorable! The girls had olive leaves as their bouquets, which I loved and the boys wore a classic formal tux! Will and I also decided to surprise my mum by using the same song for our wedding dance as her and my late father, which was pretty special.

I had a limit of 5 dresses that I wanted to try and my sister kept insisting on this dress, which I was not a fan of at all, but she was so pushy that in the end I just did it to humour her. I tried it on first to get it out of my way and it ended up being the dress. It fit my shape perfectly and made my breasts look small which was important as I felt they were falling out of the others! Also was totally over my budget but was such an easy choice!

We really wanted the wedding to be elegant and have a garden kind of vibe with the florals, which Ivy Lane Collective did so well. We used different types of candle holders which had a great effect on the room! We also moved our arbor inside and hung a neon sign under it, which became the focal point of the room.
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding? Just being able to go ahead with the wedding as it was postponed from last year! We felt so lucky that we could have our friends and family together with us to celebrate.
Also, it was so windy and the arbor fell over a few times prior to the ceremony- thankfully, the wind abated before the ceremony started!
Tell us about your wedding dress & how you came to choose the perfect one: I am very indecisive but wanted something simple and classic. I had also always wanted chiffon sleeves with a silk cuff. I tried on a few which I thought I'd like, but did not suit me as much as I thought they would. I ended up trying on a dress at Marry Me Bridal at Mosman which I did not love on the rack but loved on! I altered the sleeves (which were long and draping) to the style I wanted. It was so comfortable.

Nothing - we both agreed it was the most perfect day we could have ever wished for. Our guests agreed too!
What advice would you give to future brides?
Try and relax on the actual day - we had a wedding co-ordinator who took all our stress away. If you have the funds I would say, try and do this, as then you (and your family) will really be able to be in the moment and not worry about the little things. I think having an on the day wedding co-ordinator helped us to enjoy our day more.
Also, I debated over getting a second dress for dancing and I am glad I did- my bustle was heavy and it was difficult to dance properly with its weight, so if you're into the d-floor I would highly recommend a second dress!

Tell us about the styling/theme for your wedding? What was the atmosphere like on the day?
The theme was soft and romantic and fairly casual. I saw the most amazing photo of a huge bunch of peonies on Instagram by Honesty Flora and the whole style for the wedding sort of built around that - lots of bright pinks and purples and reds in the arch, our bouquets, and on the tables, and then neutral tones for the linen, the suits, and the dresses. Panama Dining Room has the most beautiful arch windows and greenery so it didn’t take much to make it look incredible! We also lucked out with the most perfect weather (24 and sunny), so the afternoon light was magical.
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
The night before me and my bridesmaids stayed at Ovolo Laneways. It was so much fun - we got manis, pedis, watched rom coms, and ordered takeaway. The day of the wedding we had coffee and bagels on the rooftop before hair and makeup arrived. It was so unnecessary as we all live in Melbourne, but so worth it!
We also did a first look before the ceremony and got a quick drink with the bridal party. That took my nerves from a level 100 down to a 20 and was a lovely moment to have just the two of us, so I’d highly recommend it.
Tell us about your wedding dress & how you came to choose the perfect one.
I went to a few wedding dress shops with my mum and my sister and it was so fun trying on all the different styles! I actually almost went with a floor length dress with a train - I was panicking as a lot of the stores were saying the lead time was 9+ months. But then I thought about my own style and what I really wanted, and realized that I didn’t want to wear a traditional wedding dress. I also really wanted something that would show off an amazing pair of heels. I found my dress on the outnet US and wasn’t sure how it would look all done up, but then after some extensive Googling I found another bride over on Ivory Tribe who had worn it a couple years prior. She looked incredible! I had to have one of my friends over in San Francisco ship it to me. I felt amazing in it, so comfortable and light. The only challenge was keeping the linen wrinkle free (which I totally failed to do), but in hindsight it didn't matter at all.
Wedding dress brand: Rebecca Vallance

Is there anything you wish you had done differently?
Started getting ready earlier! I really wanted to avoid lots of sitting around on the day, but didn’t factor in how long everything would take. Our photographer and videographer arrived and I hadn’t even started on makeup yet! My bridesmaids had these incredible intricate braids, and my sister was just getting started on hers when they arrived as well. That was the only point in the day I was a tad stressed. Skye and Rae were incredible though and we ended up only being about 20 minutes late to meet the guys in Collingwood.
What advice would you give to future brides?
Take your time making decisions and spend time researching. Don’t feel rushed or pressured into going with the first vendors you meet with, or the first dress you try on. I changed my mind a few times, and I am so glad I did, as every vendor we went with made a huge impact on the day. I would also recommend getting a videographer as the day goes so quickly it’s all a blur.
We hope our advice has been helpful for you to plan and take control of your big day. It is normal for brides to feel overwhelmed at first, but there is nothing to worry about as long as you have everything organised. If you are still planning your wedding accessories for your big day and have not found the right pair of earrings to compliment your bridal style, we are more than happy to help.
]]>The Fleur collection was inspired by flowers in particular the Orchid and African Violet. The collection is romantic and feminine and showcases statement pieces as well as beautiful studs. We have used a combination of different coloured stones within the collection to show the diversity in each flower type. Some of the stones we have used are amethyst, lapis lazuli, blue lace agate, smokey quartz, green onyx, crystal quartz, rainbow moonstone, black onyx, rose quartz and freshwater pearls.
When designing this collection we wanted to create something modern and on trend for the new age bride. We wanted to step away from the traditional single drop pearl earring and create something that you would see on a page of Vogue Bridal. Not only have we created pieces for the bride, however we also wanted to create a collection for the brides most important women, her bridesmaids. We hope you love The Fleur collection as much as we loved designing it.

Tell us about the styling/theme for your wedding? What was the atmosphere on the day?
Classic and elegant style, in a minimalist and effortless way. We kept our styling simple with some specific furniture items and floral decorations. Our venue was a beautiful setting in a valley, overlooking a dam on a working cattle farm.
We wanted a relaxed vibe during the afternoon and early evening for guests; followed by an energetic night-time vibe, with the dance floor going off…and we achieved this! It was so exciting seeing our vision come to life and see all our loved ones having the best time.
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
Our ceremony was so beautiful, it was amazing to see all of our favourite people together in one place listening to our story and celebrating with us. Our celebrant (a close, long time friend of both Chauncey and I) told our story perfectly; and Chauncey’s sister wrote and read the most beautiful ceremony reading for us. A very personal ceremony…. just beautiful. We are so excited to watch our wedding video, and relive this.
Our bridal party photos, speeches and dance floor were also very special, and very memorable. It’s hard to pick a single moment in the wedding…. the whole day was just so magical and a dream come true.

Gemstones can be referred to as a gem, fine gem, jewel, precious stone, or semi-precious stone. The name gemstone is given to a piece of mineral, rock or organic mineral that has been cut and polished. These stones then get made into jewellery or various other designs. Certain rocks such as opal and lapis lazuli and organic materials that are not minerals such as pearl and amber are commonly used for jewellery designs and therefore often considered to be gemstones.
How are gemstones formed?
A majority of gems are formed below the surface of the ground; however there are a number of different ways individual gemstones can be made. A large amount of these gemstones are created when the minerals react with water that is found just below the surface of the earth and the minerals then dissolve. This process allows the minerals to form with gemstones like opals, agates and amethysts forming when the solution cools or evaporates.
Meaning of Stones
Rainbow Moonstone
Rainbow moonstone features occasional iridescent or multi-coloured flashes with transparency that ranges from opaque to semi translucent, making them a beautiful stone. Rainbow moonstone is thought to bring balance, harmony and hope while enhancing creativity, compassion, endurance and inner confidence.
Crystal Quartz
Quartz is the most powerful healing stone of the mineral kingdom. Clear Quartz is known as the stone of power and amplifies any energy or intention. Clear Quartz encourages clarity of thought and purpose to one's heart and mind.
Mother of Pearl
Mother of Pearl is an iridescent layer of matter that makes up the lining of many mollusks. Mother of pearl is thought to awaken the feeling of love, the love energy it shares is both effective for yourself and others. It can be used to increase love luck or increase your self-esteem.
Pearl
Pearls are the ultimate symbol for wisdom. Valued for their calming effects, pearls represent serenity, while being able to strengthen valuable relationships and convey a sense of safety. Pearls also symbolize purity, as well as integrity and loyalty.

Our ceremony was held in Carlton Gardens, which was bursting with spring so we wanted to capitalize on the natural beauty. We kept our styling simple and added touches of gold and pink linens throughout the ceremony and reception.
I chose a bouquet of long stemmed roses in a pink cappuccino. I fell in love with them and they looked perfect with my modern wedding dress.
What do you feel was the most unique/memorable part of your wedding?
For every decision we made about our wedding, we asked ourselves “does it add to the fun?” We wanted a relaxed celebration that reflected our relationship.
Our celebrant kicked off our ceremony with so many laughs, it really set the tone for the whole affair. When our guests arrived at the reception we had a group of gospel singers. We walked in to the reception as they sang “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and the entire wedding party were up and dancing before the song ended. It was so much fun and we couldn’t wipe the smile off our faces. Everyone kept dancing and the dinner ended up being quite delayed, definitely worth it.

Enjoy the lead up and don’t let the little things stress you out. Make sure you hand over all responsibilities and questions to someone a week out so you can enjoy being around your family and friends, it’s such a special time.
Invest in the entertainment and find a good celebrant so the party starts from the get-go.
